I Love Thanksgiving!

I love the American holiday of Thanksgiving! The bible tells us to give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thess. 5:18 NIV). Expressing gratitude to God in every circumstance is powerful! This act of thanksgiving, even during difficult times, is God’s will for every believer. The emphasis is on giving thanks IN all situations, NOT necessarily FOR everything that happens. It’s about maintaining a spirit of gratitude no matter what I am experiencing, whether joyful or challenging. The past few years I have faced health issues daily, but I have found that no matter what I am facing, there is always something to thank God for. And being thankful brings the benefits of increased joy, positive emotions, stronger relationships, better health, and the ability to deal with adversity. So “whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him (Col. 3:17).”
