There are two plans facing us every day. One leads to life, the other leads to destruction. Jesus said, “The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy…I have come that you may have life…abundantly! (John 10:10).” How do we fall into the enemy’s trap that leads to destroying us? By not forgiving from the heart. [...]
God knows your name. You are so important to Him! And you have a God-given ministry from the Lord that only you can fulfill. Paul the apostle said, “Tell Archippus: See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.” (Col. 4:17). Most Bible scholars believe Archippus was the son of [...]
The story is told of a man, who in utter frustration, asked his pastor why God had not been giving him answers. Unable to hear the pastor’s mumbled reply, the man moved closer, asking the pastor to repeat what he had said. Still unable to hear the reply, he moved closer and closer until finally [...]
Someone once told me there are two types of ministries before the throne of God: Jesus’ ministry of intercession (Rom. 8:34), and Satan’s “ministry” of accusation (Rev. 12:10). As believers, we must extend Jesus’ ministry of intercession to others and know how to handle accusations that may come against us. I have learned that when [...]
It feels crazy to me now, but as a young leader, I actually thought everyone thought like me. I later realized I do not need others on the team who think like me. I need people who are gifted differently than me who see things I am not seeing. I also learned that a key [...]
Leadership is built on trust and relationship. We cannot lead someone if they do not trust us. And learning to trust someone does not happen overnight. Trust is built by making trustworthy decisions and by our relationships on the team. Do team members feel safe with your leadership? If you are leading a team and [...]
We live in turbulent times. But it is so comforting to know that Jesus is on the throne interceding for us. Jesus once said, “For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be made known.” (Luke 12:2). So as the people of God, let’s pray in agreement with [...]
I have served in Christian leadership for more than 50 years. I often felt insecure and struggled with knowing how to make decisions and lead effectively, especially when there were differing viewpoints. One day one of our team members told me, “Go find a leader you trust and ask him to mentor you.” I took [...]
I have learned over the years that God often closes a door in our lives in preparation to opening a new door. But the problem we often encounter is knowing what to do in the hallway as we wait for a new door to open. Here are a few things I have learned over many [...]
I love the American holiday of Thanksgiving! The bible tells us to give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thess. 5:18 NIV). Expressing gratitude to God in every circumstance is powerful! This act of thanksgiving, even during difficult times, is God's will for every believer. The emphasis is [...]
