Thomas Edison’s teachers told him he was too stupid to learn anything. A reporter asked Edison one day how it felt to have made 1000 failures trying to invent a light bulb. His response, “I did not fail 1000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1000 steps.” Henry Ford once said, “Failure provides the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.” Sometimes bad things happen to good people. During these times, it is so easy to feel like a failure. But the last chapter has not yet been written. Take Job for example. He had many good seasons in life, but he is remembered for the terrible time of oppression and loss he faced in one difficult season of his life. But God turned that very difficult season around for good. Do not assume that you are worse than others if you suffer loss or go through a trial or make a mistake. Do not read too much into negative things that happen to you. Just make sure you do not change what you believe according to the season you are in. The Word of God is truth regardless of what we are experiencing in our present season. John 8:31&32 tells us: “If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed, and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.”
