Let’s talk for a moment about faith. Faith is a “gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8) and God uses His divine spoon to give each of us a “measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). The question is not, “How do I get faith?” but, “How do I exercise the faith that God has already given me?” All of us have faith in something. We may have faith in our ability to drive our car, or faith in a person whom we trust. Some people have faith in their abilities, or in a certain philosophy. But as believers in Jesus, our faith is focused exclusively on the living God—in Jesus Christ. And faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17).
The Bible literally defines faith in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Faith involves believing first, and then seeing. God called Abraham “a father of many nations” long before he had a son. The Bible says that Abraham “in hope believed” (Romans 4:18) that this promise would come to pass. He did not wait until he saw the physical evidence before he believed by faith. But eventually, he saw it with his own eyes. God honored his faith. And God is honoring your faith today! You will see the Lord fulfill His promises to you! Continue to use the measure of faith God has given to you!
