God knows your name. You are so important to Him! And you have a God-given ministry from the Lord that only you can fulfill. Paul the apostle said, “Tell Archippus: See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.” (Col. 4:17). Most Bible scholars believe Archippus was the son of Philemon and his wife Apphia, close friends of Paul. (Philemon 1 & 2). The church of Colossae met in their home. God had a ministry for Archippus to fulfill and he also has a ministry for you to fulfill. To “minister” means to “serve.” It might be serving someone in your family, at your job, with your church or someone the Lord brings into your life. Here are a few things to remember. (1) God wants to speak to you. Expect Him to give you next steps. (2) This next season of your life is very important! (See to it). (3) Fulfill your unique ministry that no one else has been given and know that the Lord has given you this ministry. I am thankful for preachers and pastors and other public five-fold ministers. But let’s never forget, we are all ministers (Eph. 4:12). The saints (the believers) are called by God to be the ministers. As Paul told Archippus, the Lord is also telling you and me, “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”
