It feels crazy to me now, but as a young leader, I actually thought everyone thought like me. I later realized I do not need others on the team who think like me. I need people who are gifted differently than me who see things I am not seeing. I also learned that a key to longevity for any team to continue to work together in harmony, there must be four commonalities among all of the team members. These four commonalities are: the same vision, the same values, the same procedure, and healthy relationships. Vision is where are we headed, values are those things we will die for, procedure is how we will do it, and relationship means we have a high level of trust among team members. If any one of these four commonalities are missing, the team will not function properly.
