I was driving down the road one day when a spirit of fear came on me like a cloud. I was paralyzed with fear. Immediately I was aware of what was happening. The enemy was trying to cause me to live by my feelings of fear rather than doing the things I knew God was calling me to do. I said boldly, “In Jesus’ name, I renounce this spirit of fear and command it to leave.” And guess what? It left! When we resist the devil, he has to flee! (James 4:7). A spirit of fear has to leave when confronted with the name of Jesus. The bible promises that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow…(Phil. 2:10). A spirit of fear will always bow to the powerful name of Jesus.
