Never allow your present season or your past season of life to define who you are. If you have received Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are a forgiven child of the living God, regardless of your past. That is who you are! Period! Psalm 103:12 tells us: “As far as the east is from west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” That is an amazing promise!

When bad things happen to you or to me, it is not a sign that we are bad people. It’s just the reality that bad things are happening. Sure, there are times that we are in hard seasons because of bad decisions we have made in the past. But we have the opportunity to make good decisions for our future. We all make mistakes and we all fail at times. But just because you fail, that does not mean that you are a failure!

It is so easy to quickly revert back to the devil’s lies of condemnation. Do not allow the devil to condemn you when you look back at your life. People who look back too much run into what’s in front of them. “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Rom. 8:1). We are loved and forgiven by our amazing Heavenly Father. So then, let’s purpose in our hearts to refuse to look back, and receive grace from God to live in freedom today. As Jesus says in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” Today is your day of freedom! Receive it and enjoy it!
