It seems like everywhere I turn, I find myself talking to someone who feels as if they are in the “land in between.” They know God has something for them in the next season, but find themselves waiting…living in a season “in between.”
My wife LaVerne read a quote to me this morning that put this dilemna into perspective: “Instead of praying, ‘God what do you want me to do next,’ ask, ‘God, what do you want me to do while I am right here?’ Direction from God is not just for your next big move, He has a purpose in placing you where you are right now. Begin to understand God’s purposes for your life by discovering what He wants you to do now.”
We are not sure where the quote came from, but it is certainly worth repeating. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, God’s Word confirms the message of the quote: “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
God will lead us to new things, but for today, let’s ask our God for His eyes to see what He is doing around us now. Then, we will not miss our God-given opportunities for today.

I liked how this same point came up a few times this weekend at our East Coast conference. For some of us, it’s a healthy reminder to finish our previous instructions from the Lord.
For me? It starts with writing – especially in my journal. God has a wonderful way of directing me through journaling.
This will keep you focused on the purposes of God. I must be about the Father’s business. Definition will come forth as you walk daily. Like He said ” I will be a lamp unto your feet”. Have fun and be thankful!!!!!
